Academic projects

As a student of visual communication at Universität der Künste Berlin and digital media at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen and Universität Bremen, I explored the intersection of design, technology, and interaction. My work spanned interactive experiences, conceptual design and creative coding, always driven by curiosity and a passion for pushing creative boundaries.

iOS iPad C++ Cinder Interactive Installation Projection mapping Shadow Interdisciplinary HfK 2012

In Between is an interactive installation exploring shifting spatial structures. Seventeen rotating walls redefine visibility and movement, forming ever-changing paths. Shadows from an embedded performance animate the space, inviting visitors to engage and explore. Blurring the lines between architecture, performance and visual art, the work transforms space into a dynamic experience.

Processing Java Generative Stage Motion Tracking Interdisciplinary HfK 2012

Intervening Spaces blends new media, fashion and dance, using the stage as a conjoining element. A dancer’s movements in a 4x4x3 meter space, tracked by Kinects, generate a virtual structure. This data is transferred to physical cardboard polygons, cut by laser and assembled into the stage design.

Pi Calculator Forces Errors Sequence Techno Legacy UdK 2014

William Shanks spent years calculating pi by hand, publishing his results up to the 707th digit in 1873. In 1945, D.F. Ferguson revealed only the first 527 digits were correct. Today, computers calculate billions of digits instantly. Mechanical PI represents this process in a physical, mechanical form.

C++ OpenFrameworks Computer Vision Multi-touch Phones Real-time Gaming HfK 2010

Mobia is a real-time strategy game where players interact on a multitouch surface. iPhones represent contacts as single cells, which interact by orbiting, reinforcing, avoiding, encountering, colliding or deleting each other.

'Konzeptionelle Dichte' explores the challenges of natural language processing (NLP). The thesis bridges computer science and linguistics, developing a concept to analyze machine-generated associations in image search.

Kinetic Sculpture Arduino Errors UdK 2012

Three identical machines, each fitted with a set of mechanical arms reaching into a fabric and a low resolution observing camera, try to copy kinetic information from its predecessor. The unideal circumstances within this circular setup will make the machines fail their tasks, transform the circulated information and theoretically repeat the original iteration.

The Physical Computing Library is a packaging and documentation system that makes integrating electronic components with Arduino effortless. Each package visually maps out the connections, while a web-based library provides example code and usage instructions. This project simplifies prototyping, making physical computing more accessible for makers, students and developers.
